The proportions are a little off from a GI 1911 and this is done deliberately. After a lot of research I found Metal Form makes the new mags for the Baby Rock when I enquired about magazine purchases I received this reply by email.

Foremost my baby rock has a trigger finger cutting problem caused by the sharp corners of the groove machined into the trigger guard. For example Browning uses an internal 1911 style extractor while Baby Rock uses an external extractor.
